Parris Island Marine Graduations

We support our Marines and have rented our homes to many Parris Island families over the years.  If your group is visiting Beaufort for a Parris Island Graduation, we would love to give you some more information on our homes!  They are perfect for groups coming to the area to support their children, grandchildren, friends & relatives during this special time in their lives. 

We realize that it is a great sacrifice these young men and women make for our country,  so we do believe in giving discounts on rental rates for Marine Families. 

Typically, marine families will come in on Tuesday or Wednesdays and check out on Saturdays or Sundays. Since Beaufort is a vacation destination, we also have many families who attend graduation and stay for the week. “Our daughter graduated from MCRD Parris Island on January 8, 2010. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your beautiful home. The weather was less than perfect and extremely cold while we were there and I must say the house was beautifully heated throughout! That’s surprising for such an old historic home! We had a group of 13 people and the house was perfect for a group this large. The location was an easy drive to the base and nearby restaurants and shops.

The Ceremony

Family Day

Please register before 0950 at the Douglas Visitor Center.

6:30 am - Java Café open in Visitor Center 7 am - Motivational Run 8 am - 7 pm Marine Corps Exchange open 8 am - Museum opens 8:15 am - All Weather Training Facility/Lyceum Open 9:30 am - Battalion Commander's Brief describing Recruit Training in the All-Weather Training Facility 9: 50 am - Liberty Ceremony (on base liberty commences upon conclusion of the ceremony) 10 am - 3 pm Barracks Open House 10 am - 3 pm Observation of events at Leatherneck Square 3 pm - Liberty Ends

Graduation Day

The Morning Colors Ceremony (flag raising) with musical accompaniment by the Parris Island Marine Band is held Friday at 7:45 a.m. in front of Barrow Hall. Graduation is held Friday mornings at 09:00 a.m. on the Depot’s Peatross Parade Deck and lasts about an hour. In the event of inclement weather, graduation ceremonies will be held in two or three indoor locations, which will be announced on the morning of graduation at the Visitors Center.
